Job summary

Suncore Construction & Materials in Cedar City is seeking a skilled Shop Mechanic for swing shift to maintain and repair our construction equipment fleet. You will perform routine diesel engine maintenance, diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, and ensure equipment uptime.

The role requires diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical system experience, ability to read manuals and schematics, strong attention to detail, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and hydraulic diagrams.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Previous experience as a Diesel or Shop Mechanic, preferably in the construction industry.
• Diesel mechanic certification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine diesel engine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and dump trucks.
• Inspect equipment to identify worn or damaged parts and determine necessary repairs or replacements.
• Troubleshoot and repair engine fault codes using diagnostic equipment and tools.
