Job summary

Suncore Construction & Materials in Cedar City, UT is seeking a skilled Shop Mechanic to maintain and repair our construction equipment fleet. The role covers diesel, hydraulic, and electrical repairs with competitive pay and strong benefits.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, diagnosing complex issues on heavy machinery, and using diagnostic tools to fix engine fault codes. A valid driver’s license is required and certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and hydraulic diagrams.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Experience as Diesel or Shop Mechanic, preferably in construction.
• Diesel mechanic certification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine diesel engine maintenance: oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and dump trucks.
• Inspect equipment to identify worn or damaged parts and determine repairs or replacements.
• Troubleshoot and repair engine fault codes using diagnostic equipment and tools.
