Job summary

Suncore Construction & Materials in Cedar City is seeking a skilled Shop Mechanic to maintain and repair our construction equipment fleet. You will work on diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems to keep excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and dump trucks in peak condition.

Beyond hands-on repairs, you’ll follow manuals and schematics, diagnose failures, and perform routine maintenance. A valid driver's license and prior diesel mechanic experience are required, with certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and hydraulic diagrams.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Previous experience as a Diesel or Shop Mechanic in construction preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Shop Mechanic (Swing Shift) - Cedar City

Things You’ll Do

• Perform routine diesel engine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and dump trucks.

• Inspect equipment to identify worn or damaged parts and determine necessary repairs or replacements.

• Troubleshoot and repair engine fault codes using diagnostic equipment and tools.

Requirements

• Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and hydraulic diagrams.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Previous experience as a Diesel or Shop Mechanic, preferably in the construction industry.

• Diesel mechanic certification or equivalent experience preferred.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
