Job summary

Suncore Construction & Materials in Cedar City is seeking a skilled Shop Mechanic to maintain and repair our construction equipment fleet. You will work on diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems to keep excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and dump trucks in peak condition.

Beyond hands-on repairs, you’ll follow manuals and schematics, diagnose failures, and perform routine maintenance. A valid driver's license and prior diesel mechanic experience are required, with certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and hydraulic diagrams.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Previous experience as a Diesel or Shop Mechanic in construction preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine diesel engine maintenance such as oil changes and fluid checks.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on fleet equipment.
• Inspect equipment to identify worn parts and determine repairs or replacements.
• Troubleshoot engine fault codes using diagnostic tools.
