Job description

Sioux Falls Truck & Trailer is looking for a Diesel Mechanic

Qualifications: Must have own tools; advanced training is a plus but not necessary.

Key responsibilities of a service technician include:

  1. Troubleshooting and Diagnosing Issues: Identifying problems and malfunctions in equipment or systems using diagnostic tools, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills.

  2. Repair and Maintenance: Performing repairs, replacements, and maintenance tasks to restore equipment to working condition, including replacing faulty components, performing software updates, and ensuring proper calibration.

  3. Customer Interaction: Communicating with customers to understand issues and provide updates, demonstrating effective communication and customer service skills.

  4. Documentation: Keeping accurate records of repairs, maintenance, parts used, and other relevant information.

  5. Preventive Maintenance: Conducting scheduled preventive maintenance to prevent issues and extend equipment lifespan.

  6. Training and Support: Providing training to customers on equipment use and maintenance when needed.

  7. Adhering to Safety Guidelines: Following safety protocols to ensure safety during work on hazardous equipment.

  8. * Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally.

  9. * Participate in all available training programs.

Service technicians can specialize in various industries, including:

  • Automotive
  • Information Technology

  • HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)
