In this role, you will be an integral part of our service team, providing top-notch maintenance and repair services. Your primary focus will be on diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues efficiently and accurately at our customers' locations. Whether it's on the road or at a worksite, your expertise and dedication to exceptional service will ensure our customers' satisfaction and the smooth operation of their diesel vehicles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Answering all service calls.
  2. Completing all necessary paperwork.
  3. Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair.
  4. Perform work with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  5. Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
  6. Verify warranty on all repair orders, if applicable.
  7. Save and tag parts if warranty.
  8. All communication with customer.
  9. Road test vehicles when required, to quality check work performed.
  10. Maintain working knowledge of factory technical bulletins.
  11. Ensure customer vehicle cleanliness.
  12. Keep service truck neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership owned tools at all times.
  13. Uphold federal, state and local regulations governing the disposal of hazardous waste.
  14. Perform job duties and functions with flexibility in the event circumstances shift, i.e., emergencies, changes in personnel, workload, rush jobs or technology developments.
  15. Other duties as assigned by manager.
  16. May be required to work in the shop.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  1. Required to perform work inside and outside, in all-weather situations, at the shop division location.
  2. Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
  3. Manual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 80 lbs.
  4. Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery.
  5. Normal range of hearing and vision.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing.
  3. Class B CDL upon start.
  4. Freightliner or Western Star experience.
  5. Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  1. Experience diagnosing and repairing light duty trucks and auto.
  2. Diesel or Automotive Technology Certifications/Education.
