Job summary

WM (Waste Management) is seeking a Mechanic Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment. You will work under general supervision, apply your mechanical expertise, and document work using fleet maintenance software.

The role requires safety awareness, adherence to SRTs, and ability to train junior staff. The ideal candidate has 2 years of hands-on experience with heavy equipment or trucks, a valid driver's license, and a High School Diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• 2 years as a mechanic technician working on heavy equipment/trucks or similar role, preferably in a diesel, automotive, construction, or industrial setting
• 2 years inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing trucks and stationary equipment
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located
• Valid Driver's License Upon Hire

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards.
• Communicate directions and specifications verbally and in writing to team members.
• Demonstrate high quality work with limited repeat repairs within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
• Document work and parts usage using fleet maintenance software.
• Test vehicle systems and components for proper functionality and alignment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and determine effective repair solutions.
• Repair and replace components on engines, transmissions, brakes and electrical systems.
