Job summary

Summit Drilling LLC is seeking a Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician to maintain and repair a mixed fleet of diesel trucks, heavy equipment, and drilling-support vehicles at the Fort Mill, SC location. The role covers preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, diagnostics, and field service, with a pathway to obtain a Class A CDL through our training program.

Qualifications

• Two years of diesel-shop or fleet-maintenance experience.
• Hands-on repair of diesel trucks, heavy equipment, or off-road machinery.
• Knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic, electrical, brake, steering, and cooling systems.
• Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs with limited supervision.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Reliable transportation to Fort Mill office.
• Willingness to obtain Class A CDL.
• Own set of professional mechanic tools.
• Ability to read service information and maintain repair records.
• Commitment to safe, high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks, heavy equipment, off-road machinery, and drilling-support vehicles.
• Perform preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, safety inspections, and post-repair testing.
• Diagnose and repair diesel, hydraulic, electrical, brake, steering, transmission, fuel, clutch, and cooling systems.
• Use diagnostic software and tools to identify problems.
• Repair or replace engines and components with required equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns and road-service calls.
• Complete repair orders and maintenance documentation accurately.
• Communicate equipment status and safety concerns to Shop Foreman.
