Job summary

Summit Drilling's Fort Mill, SC location is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of vehicles and equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and complex repairs on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Reporting to the Shop Foreman, you will guide junior mechanics and help maintain a safe, clean work environment while meeting operational needs and deadlines.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in a diesel shop environment (heavy equipment, trucks, off-road equipment).
• Must have your own mechanic tools and a Class A CDL driver's license.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair fleet vehicles and equipment using diagnostic software and test equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Repair or replace brakes, steering, transmissions, engines, and other vehicle systems.
• Test operate vehicles and assist Shop Foreman with performance issues.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and train junior mechanics.
• Respond to emergency service calls during and outside of normal hours.
