Republic Services in Lewisberry, PA is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment at Industrial Services sites. You will work with brake systems, alignments, tires, and diagnostic equipment, ensuring DOT compliance while on-site or on-road.

A valid driver’s license is required; CDL with tanker endorsement preferred. 1-2 years of diesel experience helps; on-call availability may be needed.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years hands-on experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• Experience in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress situations.
• CDL (A or B) with tanker endorsement preferred.
• Technical skills are preferred due to the use of sophisticated diagnostic equipment.
• Must be able to lift and move 75 pounds repeatedly.
• Profound ability to make decisions and work independently with little direction from management.
• Must be flexible with schedule and be able to be on-call on weekends or as needed.
• Must have working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment.
• Pass a Pre-Employment Background Screening.
• Pass the Company's Auto Insurance Qualifiers.
• Pass the OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour training.
• Must be able to obtain Transportation Worker (TWIC) clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance of fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Work on brakes, rotors, alignments, and other components per maintenance orders.
• Inspect safety devices and protective guards and adjust as needed.
• Operate shop tools, grinders, jacks, and diagnostic equipment.
• Perform on-site and on-road repairs as required.
• Review and sign off on repaired items and ensure DOT compliance.
