Job summary

Reyes Fleet Management in Caledonia, MI, is seeking a dedicated Diesel Mechanic A to perform repairs and maintenance on trailer and tractor equipment within our fleet shop. This full-time position operates on the 3rd shift, from 10 PM to 6:30 AM, Sunday to Thursday.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED, technical knowledge, and the ability to work independently while adhering to safety and compliance programs. This role comes with competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, rebuild and repair fleet equipment including tractors and trailers.
• Complete documentation for work orders of repairs and maintenance.
• Utilize diagnostic technology to diagnose mechanical and electric issues.
• Conduct mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.

Job description

Reyes Fleet Management is seeking a Diesel Mechanic A to help with repairs and maintenance on trailer/tractor equipment located at our fleet shop in Caledonia, MI.

Shift: Full-Time 3rd Shift 10:00PM-6:30AM Sunday-Thursday

Pay: $32.50 + 0.20 shift differential = $32.70/HR

CDL Incentive Pay - ($1.00 additionally with active CDL A license)

Position Responsibilities

• Diagnose, rebuild and repair fleet equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and related parts)
• Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electric problems utilizing diagnostic technology/software when applicable
• Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
• Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal polices and regulations including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, while ensuring compliance with safety programs, correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices
• This position may require driving Reyes Family of Businesses, Reyes Fleet Management and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role. The Driver Qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last three years. Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMSCA Clearinghouse review
• Some travel may be required

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED with 3+ years of related experience)
• Must possess own tools
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles
• Valid CDL (License A) is highly desired; mandatory in some locations
• Ability to frequently lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 50 pounds, occasionally lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 100 pounds
