Job summary

R+L Carriers in Alexandria, IN is hiring a Diesel Mechanic for the 2nd shift (5:00pm–3:30am). This full-time role involves day-to-day maintenance on our fleet, including preventive maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and possibly forklifts.

Earn $26.45–$37.60 per hour with comprehensive benefits. You must have diesel engine experience, own tools, and be able to lift 50 lbs; experience with Cummins and Detroit engines is preferred, as is Cetaris familiarity.

Qualifications

• Preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
• Ability to handle major repairs.
• Experience with AC and Electrical systems.
• Must have own tools.
• 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
• Experience with Cummins and Detroit engines.
• Experience using Cetaris for work orders.
• Experience in trailer PMs and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day equipment maintenance on our fleet.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks and trailers.
• Repair forklifts where applicable at location.
• Maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies and perform welding as needed.
