Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for the 1st shift stationed at the Live Haul facility in Carthage, Mississippi. The role requires performing preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers, including oil changes, greasing, tire and brake work.

A Mississippi Driver's License, ability to pass Tyson Yard/Lot Driver Assessment and own tools are required. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years relevant experience, at least 6 months operator experience in the past year, and a high school

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months operator experience in the past 12 months.
• Must have 3 to 5 years relevant experience to the role.
• High School diploma or equivalent including Technical or vocational schooling.
• Applicants who have worked for Tyson three times will not be considered. Minimum 180 day waiting period from previous Tyson employment.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers, including oil changes, greasing, tire repair or replacement, and brake work on semi-trucks and trailers.
• Must supply your own tools for minimum maintenance.
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds, climb stairs/ladders up to 30 feet, and work in extreme weather and odors.
• Must use basic electrical, pneumatic and hand tools and document information.
