Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to repair and service fleet equipment in a safe, cost-conscious manner. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, read precision instruments, and perform targeted troubleshooting and failure analysis on trucks and trailers.

Welding may be required for certain components, and you must own your tools and comply with DOT/OSHA regulations. A valid CDL may be required for some roles.

Qualifications

• Education: High School degree or equivalent.
• Experience: Maintenance technician or equivalent education.
• Experience with truck repair, body and frame repair.
• Must provide own tools to perform job duties.
• Ability to complete required paperwork and records.
• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (when required).
• Knowledge of DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Repair company equipment in a safe, timely, cost effective manner.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or other breakdowns on trucks and related equipment.
• Read precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators and calulators.
• Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of component parts and systems.
• Weld as needed for converter dollies and other components.
• Maintain safety and regulatory compliance.
