Overview

We are Now Hiring a Diesel Mechanic in Scarborough, Maine! Transdev in Scarborough, Maine is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Compensation

Competitive compensation package of minimum $24.50 - maximum $30.00.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs to ensure vehicles are safe for our customers.
  • Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including the repair of brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches, and other repairs accurately.
  • Ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately. Maintain records of all maintenance work completed, including parts and supplies used.
  • Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.

Qualifications
  • A valid CDL B driver’s license w/ Air Brake & Passenger Endorsements is required within 6 months of hire.
  • 3+ years of verifiable professional diesel repair employment experience or a combination of education & experience.
  • Must have appropriate mechanic’s tool set.
  • ASE certifications are preferred. Must participate in company ASE certification program (company training, testing, and bonuses provided!).
  • Subject to DOT drug testing.
Physical Requirements
  • The essential functions of this position require the ability to: work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions—10% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
