- Hourly Pay: $29.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus of $100 for each New ASE Certification Obtained up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: Ryder Pays you up to $500 Every Quarter - Four Times Per Year
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF
- Hours: Second Shift 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification, Post Secondary degree, or Technical Certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
- Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- Basic diagnostics and repairs (AC and electrical systems)
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
- All other certification as required by location
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy and medium-duty equipment
- Knowledge of and ability to apply computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
- This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee, you must:
- Obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass Ryder Drug Test
- Pass DOT physical
- Pass Ryder road test
- Pass Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check, including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Important Note: Additional requirements may be required in different locations and/or accounts.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including:
- Standard vehicle maintenance
- Preventive maintenance
- Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer tools
- Complete detailed mechanical inspections & repairs with minimal supervision
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Work independently on most tasks
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
- Utilize Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Comply with all safety, DOT, MOT guidelines
- Mentor Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
- Access and use internal/external maintenance documents
- Support operations as needed, including Service Island support
- SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT220)
- Complete 2 OEM On-Line diagnostic scan tool courses as required by location fleet mix (OEM of fleet completed within 365 days)
