Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Savage, Maryland.

  • Hourly Pay: $29.00 per hour
  • Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
  • Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
  • Hours: Second shift 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid CDL Class A preferred
  • All other certifications as required by location
  • Additional requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with heavy- and medium-duty equipment repairs and diagnostics
  • Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
  • Note: Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles, obtain CDL within 6 months, and pass Ryder's drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, including preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and component replacements.
  • Perform facility maintenance duties.
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints.
  • Use shop management systems and documentation.
  • Follow safety and compliance guidelines.
  • Mentor junior technicians.
  • Access and use maintenance documents.
  • Support operations as needed, including service island support.
  • Complete OEM diagnostic courses as required.
