R+L Carriers in Meriden, CT is hiring a Diesel Mechanic for the 2:00 pm–11:30 pm shift. This full-time role focuses on day-to-day maintenance of our fleet, ensuring reliability and safety across Class 8 trucks, trailers, and related equipment.

You will perform preventive maintenance, handle major repairs, and work with diesel engines from Cummins and Detroit brands. Tools are required; some welding may be needed based on location. Competitive benefits and vacation after 90 days are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
• Must be able to handle major repairs.
• Experience with AC and Electrical systems.
• Own tools required.
• 2+ years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred.
• Experience with Cummins & Detroit engines.
• Familiarity with Cetaris work orders.
• Experience in Trailer PMs and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day equipment maintenance on fleet equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and possibly forklifts.
• Welding, overhead doors, lift gates, and dollies as location requires.

Diesel Mechanic - $30.69 - $37.25 Full-Time, Monday – Friday - 2:00 pm to 11:30 pm

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Diesel Mechanics at our Meriden, CT Service Center. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for day-to-day equipment maintenance on our fleet equipment consisting of preventive maintenance and minor to major repairs to Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. This can include maintaining trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, welding depending on location.

Requirements

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines
• Must be able to handle major repairs
• Experience with AC and Electrical
• Can lift 50lbs
• Must have own tools
• 2+ Years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred
• Experience in preventive maintenance of Cummins & Detroit engines
• Experience using Cetaris used for work orders
• Experience in Trailer PMs and repairs
