Job summary

Weyerhaeuser is seeking experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanics for the Grifton, NC Lumber Mill. Starting pay is $32.16 per hour.

You will perform service, inspections, diagnostics and repairs on mobile equipment used in lumber manufacturing, with opportunities to fabricate parts and support maintenance for forklifts and loaders. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 18+ years old, valid driver's license, and 2+ years of heavy mechanical repair experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid Driver's License with clean driving record.
• Minimum 2 years heavy mechanical repair experience or equivalent.
• Experience reading schematics and parts breakdown.
• Basic computer skills and ability to complete paperwork.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work with heat exposure.
• Able to work with limited supervision.
• Must be able to work any shift, weekends, overtime, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform service/ preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repair/maintain mobile equipment for lumber facility.
• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair engines, air brakes, running gear, hydraulics.
• Fabricate parts by riveting, bolting, welding or braze; replace as needed.
• Fabricate, cut, shape, and finish various materials.
• Perform periodic service/PMs on forklifts, loaders and related equipment.

Weyerhaeuser is currently recruiting for experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanics at the Grifton, NC Lumber Mill. Starting pay is $32.16 per hour

Key Functions

• Perform service/preventative maintenance, run inspections, diagnostics tests, and repair/maintain mobile equipment and vehicles for lumber manufacturing facility.
• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctions in diesel/gas engines, air brake equipment, running gear and hydraulics.
• Rivet, bolt, glue, braze or weld to fabricate, modify or design replacement parts for equipment.
• Fabricate, cut, shape, and perform finish operations using various types of materials.
• Perform periodic service / PMs on forklifts, front-end loaders, log moving equipment, pick-ups, etc.

• Must have a valid Driver's License and clean driving record, which must be maintained
• Minimum 2 years heavy mechanical repair experience, or education/work experience equivalent
• Experience reading and interpreting schematics and parts breakdown
• Basic computer skills, Ability to complete required paperwork
• Ability to perform essential job functions, such as lifting to 50 pounds occasionally; stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, balancing, and climbing; and exposure to equipment that intensifies the heat factor on an occasional basis
• Proven ability to work under limited supervision
• Able to work any shift, weekends, overtime, holidays as needed

The following qualifications are desired

• Two years diesel mechanic experience
• Completion of a mechanical vocational or trade school program
