Job summary

Northwest Hardwoods is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic II to diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel engines and heavy equipment across our North American operations. This hands-on role requires a minimum of 3 years’ diesel experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Diesel Mechanic experience.
• Must be able to perform strenuous and heavy work.
• Must follow NWH Attendance Policy.
• Effective communication with the service manager and coworkers.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, steering, and drivetrains
• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on diesel trucks, log trailers, semi-trailers, and conveyors
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues quickly and effectively
• Maintain accurate maintenance records
• Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
• Work safely while following all company safety procedures
• Assist with fabrication and other mechanical projects as needed
• Operate equipment as needed
• Perform duties in a timely and efficient manner
• Maintain work area appearance and safety

Our Mechanics team plays a critical role in keeping our sawmill and manufacturing operations running safely, reliably, and efficiently. From maintaining and repairing diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment to troubleshooting mechanical issues and minimizing downtime, our mechanics help keep every part of the operation moving. At Northwest Hardwoods (NWH), you’ll play an important role in keeping our equipment, vehicles, and operations running safely and efficiently. As an experienced Diesel Mechanic II, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, and servicing diesel-powered equipment and vehicles used throughout our operations. You’ll work closely with the manufacturing and maintenance teams to minimize downtime, keep equipment operating reliably, and help maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment.

Requirements

What You’ll Do
