Weyerhaeuser’s Western Timberlands Trucking in Goshen, Oregon, has a Journey Level Mechanic opening. This full‑time, swing‑shift, multi‑craft maintenance role focuses on diagnosing and repairing log trucks and light vehicles using mechanical and welding skills.

Key duties include interfacing with drivers to diagnose faults, using laptop diagnostics, servicing engines, drivetrains, electrical systems, brakes, tires, and performing diesel work (Cummins, Paccar), welding, and mentoring other

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of diesel school and three years on-the-job training.
• Class A CDL or ability to obtain within one year.

Responsibilities

• Interface with drivers to quickly detect, diagnose, and repair equipment failures and obtain needed resources.
• Use laptop diagnostic systems, troubleshoot engines, drivetrains, electrical systems, brakes, and mount tires.
• Perform preventative maintenance on trucks, including servicing and fluid changes.
• Complete diesel engine work (Cummins and Paccar).
• Perform welding/fabricating functions.
• Administrative work within maintenance tracking/reporting systems.
• Ability and willingness to mentor and train other mechanics.

Education

DescriptionWeyerhaeuser’s Western Timberlands Trucking operations in Goshen, OR has an opening for a Journey Level Mechanic. This is a multi-craft maintenance position focused on the troubleshooting and repair of log trucks and light vehicles through mechanical and welding skills. The position is full-time, swing shift, Monday - Friday.Hourly employees at this operation are represented by the IAM-AW Union. The pay rate ranges from $35.160 to $38.470 currently, based off qualifications in accordance with the labor agreement.
