Job summary

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for a Diesel Mechanic at our Egin, IL service center. The role involves daily maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and related equipment, including preventive maintenance and some welding. Candidates should have 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience and a Class A CDL.

We offer full-time employment with Monday–Friday shifts, PTO after 90 days, and a strong benefits package including employee resorts for vacation and recreation.

Qualifications

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
• Must be able to handle major repairs.
• Experience with AC and Electrical systems.
• Have the ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Must have own tools.
• 2+ years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred.
• Experience in preventive maintenance of Cummins & Detroit engines.
• Experience using Cetaris used for work orders.
• Class A CDL holder.
• Experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks.
• Experience in Trailer PMs and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day maintenance on fleet equipment including trailers and trucks.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related systems.
• Assist with minor welding and repairs as needed at service center.

Job Description

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Diesel Mechanics at our Egin, IL. Service Center. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for day-to-day equipment maintenance on our fleet equipment consisting of preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs to Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. This can include maintaining trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, welding depending on location.
