Job summary

R+L Carriers is seeking a Diesel Mechanic at our Elgin, IL service center. This full-time role offers an hourly range of $23.63 to $37.48, with Monday–Friday shifts and various options.

PTO becomes available after the first 90 calendar days of employment, and a comprehensive benefits package is included.

Qualifications

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
• Ability to handle major repairs.
• Experience with AC and Electrical systems.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and have own tools.
• 2+ years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred.
• Experience with Cummins & Detroit engines.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical and AC systems.
• Maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and weld as needed.
• Follow safety and quality standards.

Job Description:

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Diesel Mechanics at our Egin, IL. Service Center. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for day-to-day equipment maintenance on our fleet equipment consisting of preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs to Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. This can include maintaining trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, welding depending on location.
