Job summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a qualified diesel mechanic in Decatur, IL to safely operate, repair, rebuild and maintain Company owned or leased heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment to ensure safe operation.

Starting pay is 25–35 USD per hour with additional pay based on experience and certifications. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is paid in two increments. OT applies after 40 hours with a $3 shift differential.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing diesel refuse trucks.
• Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTOs, and other truck components.
• Willingness to work 1pm–11:30pm shift and handle overtime after 40 hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.

Starting Pay: $25-$35/hrMore pay available based on experience, certifications and skill level.

$5K Sign On-paid out in 2 increments
