Job summary

GFL Environmental in Alabama is hiring a maintenance technician to safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on company owned or leased heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment to keep them operating safely.

Starting pay is $25-$30 per hour with overtime after 40 hours and potential increases based on experience and certifications. The shift is 10am-8pm, Monday to Friday, with benefits after 60 days and a 401(k) after 6 months.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining heavy-duty diesel trucks or equipment.
• Ability to diagnose issues and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to keep fleet vehicles ready for daily operation.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.
