Diesel Maintenance Technician (B)

Job Overview

Vehicle Technician B will repair and maintain all types of customer vehicles and equipment, including material handling, trailers, and diesel‑powered equipment; perform job duties independently with limited supervision; provide mentoring and assistance to Vehicle Technician C's as needed.

Shift Details

• Available Shifts: 2nd (Mon - Fri, 10:00 am‑6:30 pm)

Compensation

Pay rate starting at $28.50‑$33.00 per hour, depending on skillset and experience, with an additional $1.50 shift differential pay.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Basic welding and cutting torch operation skills
• Basic electrical, mechanical diagnostics, and repair skills
• Understanding of tire inflation systems
• Knowledge and ability to mount and dismount tires
• Basic diagnostic tool skills
• Ability to schedule and prioritize daily tasks
• Must adhere to company uniform and appearance standards
• Professional and appropriate interaction with internal and external customers
• Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions for tools, equipment, machinery, and materials used to power, hand, diagnostic tools and operate material handling equipment
• Must be capable of driving company equipment including class 8 tractors under working conditions
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule and be able to vary start and finish times, possibly including weekends and holidays
• Basic computer skills
• Each technician needs to provide their own tools

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Knowledge acquired through 3‑5 years of relevant work experience
• D.O.T. Brake Inspection certification
