Job summary

Red Classic is seeking a Diesel Maintenance Technician (B) located in Roanoke, Virginia. The ideal candidate will repair and maintain a variety of customer vehicles and equipment in a role that requires autonomy and the ability to mentor less experienced technicians.

This position offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $28.50 – $33.00, plus a shift differential. Benefits include outstanding medical/vision/dental coverage, paid training, and opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Knowledge acquired through 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
• Each technician needs to provide their own tools.

Responsibilities

Diesel Maintenance Technician (B)

Job Overview

Vehicle Technician B will repair and maintain all types of customer vehicles and equipment, including material handling, trailers, and diesel-powered equipment. The technician performs job duties independently with limited supervision and provides mentoring and assistance to Vehicle Technician C’s as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Basic welding and cutting torch operation skills
• Basic electrical, mechanical diagnostics, and repair skills
• Understanding of tire inflation systems
• Knowledge and ability to mount and dismount tires
• Basic diagnostic tool skills
• Ability to schedule and prioritize daily tasks
• Must adhere to company uniform and appearance standards
• Professional and appropriate interaction with internal and external customers
• Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions for tools, equipment, machinery, and materials used to power, hand, diagnostic tools operate material handling equipment
• Must be capable of driving company equipment including class 8 tractors
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule and vary start and finish times, possibly including weekends and holidays
• Basic computer skills
• Each technician needs to provide their own tools

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED

• D.O.T. Brake Inspection certification

Pay Range: $28.50 – $33.00 per hour, with an additional $1.50 shift differential. Available Shift: 2nd Shift – Mon‑Fri, 2:00 pm–10:30 pm (Shenandoah Ave).
