Job summary

Red Classic is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician (B) to repair and maintain customer vehicles and diesel equipment at remote sites. You will work independently, mentor junior technicians, and handle preventive maintenance on assets at customer locations.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 3–5 years of experience, and a DOT brake inspection certification. A valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a DOT medical certificate are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic electrical, mechanical diagnostics, and repairs on customer vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair automatic brake systems.
• Maintain accurate parts inventory, research and resolve inventory discrepancies, and notify maintenance management when unresolved.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area and warehouse; perform other tasks as directed by management.
• Serve as a mentor for Vehicle Technicians B and C and perform additional duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Mobile Diesel Technician (B)

Job Overview: The Mobile Technician B will repair and maintain all types of customer vehicles and equipment, including material handling, trailers, and diesel-powered equipment. The technician will perform duties independently with limited supervision, mentor and assist vehicle technicians as needed, and complete Commercial Customer asset preventive maintenance and repairs at remote customer work sites. Must be equipped with personal hand tools; service bed of the truck will store removed box tools.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform basic electrical, mechanical diagnostics, and repairs on customer vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair automatic brake systems.
• Maintain accurate parts inventory, research and resolve inventory discrepancies, and notify maintenance management when unresolved.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area and warehouse; perform other tasks as directed by management.
• Serve as a mentor for Vehicle Technicians B and C and perform additional duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Basic skills in welding and cutting torch operation.

• The technician must provide their own tools.
• Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Operate power, hand, diagnostic tools, and material handling equipment.
• Must be capable of driving company equipment, including Class‑8 tractors and a mobile shop truck.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand and walk for the assigned shift, working outdoors at commercial customer sites.
• Ability to work remotely at various commercial customer sites without direct supervision.

Pay Range: $30.00–$39.00 per hour.
