Job summary

Transdev in Optima, OK is seeking an experienced Med/Heavy Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across a range of vehicles and equipment. This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and longevity of the fleet.

Responsibilities include limited repairs under supervision, braking system work, engine tune-ups, PMs, and keeping detailed maintenance records. Requires 5+ years in automotive or diesel repair and relevant licenses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred)
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and a min 5 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experience
• Adhere to standards set by state DOT for motor vehicle inspections and safety standards
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers by performing limited repairs with moderate supervision on basic and advanced maintenance such as replacement of light bulbs, fuses, lenses, wiper blades, belts, hoses, batteries, check fluid levels, change fluids and filters and lubricate components
• Perform mechanical repairs under moderate supervision including brakes and brake inspections, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches and other repairs
• Maintain records of all maintenance work including parts used and ensure work orders are completed accurately
• Preventative maintenance (PMs) and safety inspections at prescribed intervals
• Remove and replace engine, transmission and differential assemblies
• Diagnose and perform vehicle and equipment repairs accurately
• Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary
• Move vehicles safely between job and work area
• Repair and maintain all shop equipment
• Cleans vehicles as requested or required
• Other responsibilities as requested
