Job summary

HOLT CAT is seeking a mid-level diesel mechanic in Corpus Christi to inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel-powered heavy equipment. The role involves disassembly and reassembly to manufacturer specifications, mentoring peers, and maintaining safe, organized work sites.

With 4+ years of experience, you will troubleshoot faults, read schematics, and perform repairs using standard and specialized tools while adhering to safety policies and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of diesel-powered heavy equipment repair experience preferred.
• Ability and knowledge to read/use schematics and diagrams experience is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Graduation from a diesel technology program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment malfunctions and failures.
• Disassembles and assembles machine components to manufacturer9s specifications through hand tools, pneumatic tools, and any specialized tooling.
• Rebuilds, repairs, reconditions, and maintains equipment and components.
• Demonstrates good customer relations and support; communicates customer needs to shop management.
• Plans and controls cost of repair jobs.
• Completes parts orders and identifies parts for return.
• Mentors and helps train other technicians.
• Maintains all equipment and work areas - keeps in good, clean, and orderly condition.
• Completes all documents associated with repairs in a timely manner.
• Works overtime as required by workload and customers' needs.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; e.g., ProTech Technician Training Paths.
