Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our field or shop-based maintenance team. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across a broad fleet of equipment, from pumps to generators and HVAC units, ensuring minimal downtime.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience with diesel or heavy equipment, strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems, and the ability to work safely in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some trade school or equivalent training desired.
• 3 to 5 years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment, heavy equipment, or specialty lines equipment strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems; ability to troubleshoot and repair effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and diagnostics on equipment to reduce downtime.
• Repair and restore equipment function safely and efficiently.
• Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced shop environment and maintain tools.
