Job summary

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is seeking a Diesel Generator (Genset) Mechanic to support the Maui Space Surveillance Complex under the MBSS contract. The role covers operation, maintenance, and repair of diesel gensets at multiple sites to ensure 100% reliability through preventative maintenance and prompt outage response.

Requirements include five years of experience with diesel generators up to 1 MW, ability to read wiring diagrams, and willingness to work after hours. U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; ability to travel to Haleakalā Summit (10,000 ft).
• Minimum five years maintaining diesel generator systems up to 1 MW.
• Experience with Cummins, Caterpillar, or Kohler gensets; read wiring diagrams.
• Ability to work after-hours, weekends, and holidays for emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair diesel power generation systems and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions such as startup failures and fuel issues.
• Replace worn components and verify system performance after repairs.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance per OEM and MBSS program.
• Record inspections, maintenance actions, and outage reports per PWS.
