Job summary
FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic/Technician in West Sacramento to maintain and repair our diesel fleet, including tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure proper documentation and safety compliance.
The role requires relevant training or experience, with opportunities for ASE certification credentials and tuition support. A CDL may be preferred.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One year of vehicle maintenance experience or a certificate within 60 days or completion of Apprentice Program.
- One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
- Must possess required tools to perform tasks.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
- Diagnose and adjust equipment for safe, efficient operation.
- Collaborate with other technicians on maintenance and repairs.
- Document all maintenance in writing and electronically.
- Conduct safety inspections and perform paint and body work as required.
- Adhere to laws, regulations, and company policies.
