Job summary

Reyes Fleet Management in Redding, CA seeks a Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician A to repair and maintain tractors and trailers. The role requires tool ownership, clean MVR, and possible CDL Class A in some locations.

Expect a 7:00 AM–3:30 PM shift, full-time, with benefits and occasional travel. In this position you will document work orders in the Enterprise Asset Management system and diagnose both mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience in diesel mechanics or fleet maintenance.
• Must possess own tools.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR per DOT.
• CDL Class A preferred; mandatory in some locations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (occasionally up to 100).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, rebuild and repair fleet equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and related parts).
• Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electric problems utilizing diagnostic technology/software when applicable.
• Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal polices and regulations including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, while ensuring compliance with safety programs, correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices.
• This position may require driving Reyes Family of Businesses, Reyes Fleet Management and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role. The Driver Qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last three years. Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMSCA Clearinghouse review
