Job summary

Nelsons Bus Service Inc. is seeking a skilled vehicle technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of customer and company buses in McFarland, WI. You will perform diagnostic tests, preventive maintenance, PDIs, and on-going repairs to ensure safety and reliability.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical and fuel systems, welding and body work, and documenting work for billing. CDL endorsements and strong customer communication are valued.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of vehicle diagnosis, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of traffic laws and safety.
• Experience with preventative maintenance of diesel vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems with equipment and vehicles by test driving and diagnostics.
• Troubleshoot electrical, fuel, or multiplex issues; use DVOM.
• Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles.
• Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) and set up, inspect components and repair as needed.
• Perform regular fleet maintenance and parts installation.
• Do some structural body work such as welding and panel work.
• Document time and materials for billing and maintain efficiency for service goals.
• Make emergency service calls for stranded fleet vehicles when required.
• On-site customer repairs including maintenance, defect repairs, recalls, and warranty work.
• Assist other technicians and explain diagnoses to customers or teammates.
