Job summary

Mach10 Solutions is seeking an experienced bus maintenance technician in Milwaukee to perform comprehensive maintenance and repairs on gasoline and diesel buses. You will diagnose issues using Cummins Insite, Wabco, and Allison, perform engine/ transmission overhauls, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations while documenting labor and parts used.

The role requires at least 3 years of bus or medium-duty truck experience, a toolkit, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with buses or medium-duty trucks.
• Experience in medium-duty bus maintenance; International Truck/Bus experience preferred.
• Own a personal set of professional tools.
• Understanding of pupil transportation codes and regulations (IDOT standards preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a professional demeanor.
• Ability to manage tasks independently and complete projects on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive maintenance and essential repairs on gasoline and diesel buses.
• Identify mechanical issues and execute preventive maintenance schedules.
• Complete engine and transmission overhauls as needed.
• Use diagnostic software to troubleshoot vehicle issues.
• Resolve after-treatment problems (engine faults, knock sensors, brake system HCU).
• Ensure reliability of critical systems (air compressors, fuel, ignition, HVAC, wheelchair lifts).
• Maintain and service vehicle air conditioning units.
• Conduct DOT-compliant school bus inspections.
• Document labor hours and materials used during repairs.
