Job summary

Smyrna Ready Mix is seeking a Fleet Mechanic in Ohio to maintain and repair diesel-powered mixer trucks and heavy equipment. You will perform inspections, diagnose issues, and collaborate with the operations team to minimize downtime. The role emphasizes safety, record-keeping, and ongoing learning.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work variable shifts as needed.

• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, fleet mechanic, or heavy equipment technician is a plus.
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems preferred.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in mixer trucks and other heavy equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repairs.
• Rebuild or replace major components such as engine heads, blocks, starters, and transmissions.
• Collaborate with operations to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime.
• Ensure safety policies are followed in the workshop and on job sites.
• Keep accurate maintenance records in company systems.
• Stay updated on diesel engine technology through ongoing learning.
