Job summary

ABEL ELECTRIC INC in Alabama seeks a diesel mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines, braking, fuel, and hydraulic systems to ensure fleet reliability and safety.

You will read schematics, use diagnostic tools, replace gaskets and alternators, and perform routine inspections while following safety standards.

Strong experience with diesel trucks and heavy machinery, and a valid driver's license, are required; ASE certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a diesel mechanic or similar role with diesel trucks and heavy machinery.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, braking, fuel systems and hydraulics.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, including fuel and braking systems.
• Inspect, maintain and repair hydraulic systems for safety and functionality.
• Replace gaskets, alternators, and brake parts to maintain vehicle integrity.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks and preventive servicing to reduce breakdowns.
• Collaborate with team to troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory compliance during repairs.
