Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in diesel engine repair or mechanical repair
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and technical specs
• Proficient in MS Office and basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs on Caterpillar and Perkins engines to eliminate defects
• Read test data and diagnose engine failures
• Record repair data and communicate findings to relevant teams
• Respond to and resolve service calls within the plant
• Strip back and conduct investigative engine teardowns
• Report defects to supervisors and project teams
• Identify opportunities to improve processes
• Audit materials, processes and tools for quality
• Follow SOPs and area work instructions
• Inspect strip back material for conformance
• Maintain 5S in the hot test repair area
• Rework supplier parts as needed
• Empty scrap bins to external containers
• Use prints and 1E specs to determine failures
