Minimum Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Five years of diesel equipment experience.
- Knowledge of diesel engine components (Cummins, Cat, John Deere) preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, and/or Special Requirements
- Valid State Driver's License.
- Must be able to drive company truck (pass MVR check).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Promotes, executes, and adheres to the company’s health, safety, and environmental program.
- Performs maintenance and repair activities on various pieces of diesel heavy equipment including but not limited to material spreaders, excavators, skidders, high pressure pumps, bulldozers, graders, cranes, dump bodies, crawler tractors and trailers, backhoes, man lifts, and crawler cranes.
- Diagnoses, services, and repairs various systems found on heavy equipment such as mechanical and computer electronic controls, air brake systems, transmissions, propane‑powered equipment, and pneumatic systems.
- Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and performs repairs.
- Overhauls engines, replaces engines, and rebuilds components.
- Maintains service logs and records of maintenance on vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Prepares work orders and cost material estimates.
- Keeps tools, equipment, and work area clean, organized, and in good working condition.
- Field tests equipment.
- Performs other duties or tasks as required based on the company’s needs.
