Job summary

SR 400 Constructors in Atlanta, GA is seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to diagnose and repair diesel engines and heavy equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance on dozers, excavators, heavy haul trucks, and related systems, weld and fabricate as needed, and manage work orders and parts with attention to safety and DOT regulations.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of diesel repair experience, a valid license, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather, with strong communication

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with diesel engine repair
• Thorough knowledge of DOT standards and regulations
• Must be 18 years or older
• Pre-employment drug screen required
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Strong communication skills and ability to convey information clearly
• Physical ability to perform demanding tasks (lifting, climbing, etc.)
• Attention to detail and safety procedures

Principal/Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair issues in diesel engines
• Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulics, brakes, transmission, steering and other systems
• Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment (i.e., dozers, excavators, heavy haul trucks, etc.)
• Perform welding or fabrication tasks on equipment as necessary
• Prepare work orders and order parts
• Fuel equipment and maintain daily log

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 3 years of experience with diesel engine repair
• Thorough knowledge and working experience of DOT standards and regulations
• Must be 18 years in age or older
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen
• A valid Driver’s License
• Ability to work outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions
• Knowledge and working experience of DOT standards and regulations
• Ability to communicate with others to convey information effectively
• Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
