Caterpillar Inc. in Pontiac is seeking an Assembly and Test Specialist to improve process efficiency by assembling and testing components across manufacturing stages. The role involves using hand and pneumatic tools to build fuel injectors/pumps and exhaust systems, and to operate test machinery.

Shifts include 2nd and 3rd rotations with pay starting at $23.22 per hour plus a $1.00 night shift premium. Training occurs on 1st shift; positions start supplemental with hours above 36 weekly and no

Qualifications

• A minimum of 6 months of experience in manufacturing or engine maintenance.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions (schematics, standard work, blueprints).
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand and pneumatic tools to assemble, test, rework, and repair fuel injectors and fuel pumps.
• Utilize hand and pneumatic tools to assemble exhaust systems and PETU tanks with pumps, wiring harnesses, insulation, and other components.
• Operate test machines.
• Disassemble and reassemble complex components to repair or replace damaged injector parts to transport prime product.
