The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Transportation seeks a skilled Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic to maintain a fleet of gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment. You will perform hands-on repairs, inspections, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues with diagnostic tools, repairing diverse equipment, and keeping accurate maintenance records.

Competenze

Two years of journey level mechanic experience in diagnosis and repair of automobiles, heavy trucks, or construction equipment; at least one year in diesel vehicles/equipment.
Completion of the Commonwealth’s Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic Trainee program or an equivalent Federal Government title as determined by the Office of Administration.

Mansioni

Repair and overhaul cars, trucks, tractors, and construction equipment; replace worn components.
Maintain fuel, brake, steering, cooling, electrical, heating, and transmission systems.
Identify mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and determine repair methods and parts.
Perform safety and emissions inspections and complete records for compliance.
Maintain a clean work area, follow safety procedures, and document maintenance activities.
