Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of construction equipment and vehicles supporting essential public services across the Commonwealth.

You will perform maintenance, diagnostics, inspections, and repairs on gasoline and diesel powered vehicles and equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and daily operability. This full-time role involves documentation of work and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Two years journey level mechanic experience in diagnosis and repair of automobiles, heavy trucks, or construction equipment, including diesel vehicles.
• Must be able to operate and diagnose diesel-powered equipment and vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle and Equipment Repairs: Fix cars, trucks, tractors, construction equipment, and powered hand tools
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform tune-ups, replace parts, and adjustments to reduce breakdowns
• Problem Diagnostics: Use specialized equipment to identify issues and determine repair methods
• State Inspections: Perform state safety and emissions inspections and complete inspection paperwork
• Workplace Safety: Maintain safe work area and follow safety procedures
• Activity Records: Complete documentation for equipment and maintenance performed
