The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic for the Department of Transportation. You will repair, inspect, and maintain a range of diesel engines and heavy equipment to support safe, reliable road operations.

Full-time position with a 7:00 AM–3:00 PM schedule, starting salary of $56,607.00 per year. Requires trainee program completion or equivalent experience, CDL, and certifications; state government career with training opportunities and compliance

Formación

• Completion of the Commonwealth's Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration).
• Two years of journey level mechanic experience in the diagnosis and repair of automobiles, heavy trucks, or construction equipment, which includes one year of experience in the diagnosis and repair of diesel vehicles or equipment.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsabilidades

• Equipment Repair: Repair vehicles and equipment including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and hydraulic components
• Preventive Maintenance: Carry out scheduled service tasks and diagnose mechanical issues to keep equipment in safe working order
• State Inspections: Complete official safety and emissions inspections and prepare all required documentation
• Diagnostic Work: Identify mechanical problems using tools and testing procedures to determine proper repair methods
• Safety Practices: Maintain a safe work area, follow protective measures, and report injuries or hazards promptly
• Environmental Compliance: Follow environmental guidelines and meet training requirements for safe maintenance operations
