Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair state vehicles and heavy equipment, ensuring safe travel across the state. This role focuses on diverse diesel systems and involves hands-on diagnostics and preventive maintenance.

Work involves on-site field support, state inspections, and documentation, with a 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM schedule and no telework.

Qualifications

Must complete Commonwealth Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic Trainee program or equivalent.
Two years journey level mechanic experience in diagnosis and repair of automobiles, heavy trucks, or construction equipment; one year diesel experience preferred.
Equivalent combination of experience and training accepted.

Responsabilités

Repair and overhaul vehicles, construction equipment, and mechanical systems.
Carry out routine servicing, diagnostics, and adjustments on engines and components.
Perform official safety and emissions inspections and complete required documentation.
Use tools and testing equipment to identify mechanical issues and determine repair methods.
Maintain a clean and safe work area following safety procedures and reporting hazards.
Make on-site adjustments and maintain accurate equipment records.
