Qualifications

Completion of the Commonwealth's Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic Trainee program or equivalent experience.
Two years of journey-level mechanic experience, including one year on diesel vehicles or equipment.
Equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

Engine and system repairs on engines, transmissions, cooling systems, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
Preventative maintenance including inspections, tune-ups, tire changes and adjustments.
State inspections and required documentation.
Diagnostic work using tools to identify issues and determine repairs.
Upkeep of hand tools, shop equipment, and work areas.
Assist teammates with major repairs and demonstrate repair techniques.
