Job summary

GFL - Sewer Technologies Division is seeking a skilled Mechanic A to diagnose and repair diesel and CNG trucks, including engines and electrical systems. You will lead vehicle inspections, mentor junior mechanics, and coordinate repair schedules to keep fleets on the road.

The role requires DOT and brake inspections expertise, ability to read schematics, and 5+ years in diesel/CNG maintenance. A CDL is preferred or a plan to obtain within 6 months. This is a full-time on-site Texas position.

Qualifications

• Brake safety certificate and 609 A/C system certification required.
• ASE certifications preferred.
• Ability to interpret detailed schematics and manuals.
• Experience using diagnostic software; computer literate and open to training in software systems.
• Class A or B CDL preferred, or willingness to obtain within six months of employment.
• 5+ years of diesel/CNG maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel and CNG powered trucks, including engines, electrical, propane, hydraulics and fuel systems.
• Lead inspections of brakes, all engine components, emission systems, steering mechanisms and wheels.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to level B and C mechanics.
• Prioritize repairs to maximize efficiency and timely completion of work orders.
• Oversee review of mechanical write-ups and coordinate repair schedule.
• Perform DOT and brake inspections on all vehicles.
• Complete reports, work orders, order parts and perform other admin duties daily.
• Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with safety regulations.
