As a member of the Menzies Aviation Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Mechanic team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient repair and rebuilding of airport service vehicles. You will inspect and identify defective parts on vehicles and perform repairs on gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and repair defective parts on vehicles, including gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Hydrate electric equipment according to the Hydration Schedule.
  • Repair all non-motorized equipment.
  • Program and understand the functions of the Rapid Charger, including the Battery Monitor and Identification Device (BMID).
  • Repair and replace all tires and wheels.
  • Perform quality control checks on equipment periodically.
  • Maintain maintenance records.
  • Drive and operate service equipment vehicles.
  • Perform accident inspections on involved equipment.
  • Report all accidents to supervisors and managers.
  • Answer radio repair calls on the ramp.
  • Provide preventative care and timely repairs to ensure effective aircraft services.
  • Operate all vehicles and GSE safely, including daily equipment checks.
  • Maintain a safe work environment following health, safety, and security policies.
Qualifications
  • 1 to 3 years mechanical experience
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Valid US driver’s license
  • Pass pre-employment background, physical, and drug tests
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Capable of lifting/moving 70 lbs
  • Flexible to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions
  • Willing to perform duties of other positions as needed
  • Obtain and maintain necessary airport badges
  • High School Diploma or GED, or related experience/training
  • Possess mechanical tools and toolbox
  • Legal authorization to work in the USA

Working Conditions

Employees may work outdoors in various weather conditions, near moving parts, high voltages, and hazardous substances. Must have electrical, maintenance, and computer knowledge. Tasks include periodic maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to equipment and pipelines, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Physical Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, handling objects, reaching, climbing, and talking. Must lift up to 70 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs frequently. Accommodations may be provided for disabilities.
