Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is hiring for a production operator to support a manufacturing operation. You will help increase productivity, reduce downtime, and assist on the plant floor, including setup, operation, and light maintenance of machines.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to work various shifts, and comfort with computers. PCA offers safety programs, benefits enrollment within 30 days, and 401(k) with matching contributions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Pass pre-employment background check and drug test.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Able to work any shift, including overtime and weekends.
• Comfortable with computers and touch screens.
• Willing to work closely with production personnel.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing to increase productivity and reduce downtime.
• Set up and operate machine to produce product per customer specifications.
• Troubleshoot, perform minor repair, and preventative maintenance.
• Input maintenance work orders into BPMS software and stay proactive.
• Train Helpers as required and perform quality checks.
• Adhere to safety rules, 5S standards and food packaging safety programs.
• Follow production schedules and assist with scheduling optimizations.
